beware: this is a long one

i hope everyone had a good thanksgiving weekend because i myself had a super-duper, crazy-awesome one

omg, i went to all my classes on wed. y’all should be proud of me coz i havent done that since probly week 2. wed night i went with my brothers and david to kincaid’s in redondo beach pier. the food was wow like absolutely delicious. we went all out by ordering yummy seafood and steak (ie dent in wallet). come to think of it, i didnt get a bite of my bro’s steak… argh, that punk… but i DID get to try david’s king crab legs which were yummilicious. i myself ordered some mahi mahi in blue crab afterwards, i picked up shannon and emily and we headed up to PV where mark was DJing for some korean club mixer. it was kinda gross seeing hs froshies getting freaky on the mini-dance floor afterwards we hurried back to my house where ppl came over to chill since i wont see them before they head back to school.

i spent the rest of thanksgiving weekend in mammoth

my annual snowboarding days have finally begun im SOOOOOO excited about this winter coz im gonna be snowboarding everywhere.

so thurs morning we headed over to the meeting pt where the bus was to pick us up. the ppl who went were families with kids who are all in this program called youth leadership program. most of the kids are in high school which made me feel a bit old . the ride there wasnt too bad. at least i wasnt driving, for once. i cant member what we watched cept for finding nemo. we finally got to mammoth @ 4-ish. it was too late to try the snowmobiling tours (last trip is @ 3:30) that woulda been way awesome. everyone had to rent their gear so i headed over to the shop where i bought new gloves. i wanted to buy a sweatshirt but they’re soooo overpriced like as much as a ucla sweatshirt!!! i will only let my school rip me off afterwards we headed over to our lodgings…. i guess they’re considered condos. ours was really really nice. downstairs there was a kitchen, living room w/sofa bed, and bedroom. upstairs the loft had two bunkbeds and a bedroom

we shared our condo w/a family or four who were chill. for dinner everyone (~40 ppl) came over to our condo to have a tranditional thanksgiving dinner w/turkey, ham, potatoes, stuffing, etc

fri morning we headed for canyon lodge @ 7:45 which is soooo early for me (earliest class this quarter is 11) but definitely worth it

my neighbors stephanie & teresa were both taking classes so i didnt have anyone to go snowboarding with but i asked calvin if i could tag along which i guess you’d call a turning pt for me coz we (calvin, brian, robert and i) are all pretty cose to the same level we went on a lot of different lifts and so we were got to snowboard on a lot of different trails. it was pretty cold that day tho. this one time, we lost calvin and we were waiting for the longest time for him. while we were waiting, the wind was blowing the snow from the back and it just kept hitting us. i didnt have my beanie @ the time and my ears were in pain coz they were sooooooo cold several times during the day i was thinking, “damn i need a beer” =T argh, that calvin at the bottom of the mtn, it was a bit sunny and there was barely any wind so i got a lil sunburnt on the face after lunch, the girls had finished their lesson so we took them on the canyon express and headed towards the gold rush express

the gold rush goes up soooooooo high and when by the time we finally made it back to canyon lodge, the girls were pretty PO-ed that we’d taken them there… at night, we had hot pot and spaghetti! hot pot was so yummy! i also got to take a nice long hot shower afterwards all the kids headed over to the guys’ condo. i went too eventho i was pretty tired but im glad i went coz i got to watch enemy at the gates which is really good movie. when we finally headed back to our condo, we joined the adults in conversation. we didnt go to bed til 1.

yesterday morning, i felt just a tad tired and my right knee hurt a bit from falling but i was overall i was ready to snowboard. plus i figured i’d at least go til 3. contrary to the damn weather reports, sat was warmer than fri. i decided to wear my helmet coz brian said he wanted to head for the park. robert decided to follow the girls. during our first run we were like why’s it so icy. the snow SUCKED it was one of the first runs of the day that i was going kinda fast and my board dug into the snow- my head hit the *icy* snow first i was sooooo happy i had my helmet on coz my head woulda been so damaged if i hadnt worn my helmet

we went to the park but we decided not to go off the jumps coz it was so icy and falling would hurt. after lunch i convinced teresa to go on chair 17 w/me (beginner/intermediate). i was able to take alotta pix of her. shes the type who’d be embarrassed coz shes not too good

well, i assured her that shes good for someone who just took lessons on friday. at least she got down the mtn (i told her if it wasnt working out, i’d walk down with her *whew*) when we got to the bottom, i could tell she wanted to go again but her parents insisted she either stayed on the bunny slopes or follow them to the village. as for me, i headed for chair 17 ( i went on chair 17 so much that i knew one of the lift guys & chatted with him everytime i went on the lift ) in search of everyone else. luckily, on my way up, i found them chilling at this jump that we’d found

when i got off the lift tho, i couldnt find it and so i had to go up the lift again. the 2nd time, i was able to find them. we spent probly an hr or so just going off that jump (& walking bak up) we filmed a lot with my camera. finally, we decided we’d head over to the park. brian and robert tried the box eileen, albert, and i went off the jumps i landed one or two but tried each jump i wish i’d brought my wristguards tho coz my wrists were a bit injured. finally, it was time to leave the bus ride home was sooooooooooo long. we watched lord of the rings and i was really tired from 2 days of snowboarding. no comments on the lack of consideration for the rest of the ppl on the bus from the kids in the back. they played mafia the entire time, loudly, as if no one was tired and sleeping. cant believe none of the parents yelled at them altho a couple of the other kids did. i finally got home at midnight. i took a nice hot relaxing shower, fixed my computer, uploaded all the pix/film clips i took/recorded til my hair dried and fell asleep.

i woke up this morning with a hella sore neck. the rest of my body’s a bit sore but not too bad. i headed over to shannon’s @ 11 to go over some tahoe details and had lunch w/christine. i’ll be relaxing the rest of today coz starting tomorrow, it’ll be time to crack the books =/
